Attorney General William Barr (R) doubted that the federal courthouse in Portland would be standing, had the administration not deployed federal officers to defend the building amid the ongoing violent riots rocking the city on a nightly basis.

Attorney General William Barr told House Judiciary Committee Members Tuesday that rioters in Portland, Oregon, brought “knives, rifles, and explosives” as they gathered outside federal property every night during the last two months. 

Portland protesters targeted the federal courthouse again late Monday night, hurling a Molotov cocktail or “similar destructive device” at the building, which “burst into a fireball when it struck the building causing a report to be heard and felt more than a block away,” according to the Portland Police Bureau.

A man in a crowd of protesters in Aurora, Colorado, allegedly opened fire on a Jeep as it was driven through the group on I-225 over the weekend. 

Police clashed with rioters in the city of Eugene, Oregon, a city two hours away from Portland on Saturday as hundreds of rioters targeted a federal courthouse and a county jail with fireworks before attacking downtown businesses.
