In an escalation in the battle over Netflix’s Cuties, Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) is asking the Federal Communications Commission to prohibit any future broadcast of the underage twerking movie on public television channels, saying in a letter, sent exclusively to Breitbart News, that the movie meets the standard of “obscene material” and therefore would not be protected by the First Amendment.

GOP Senators Urge FCC to Clarify Section 230 Big Tech Immunity

Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), and Josh Hawley (R-MO) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, asking the agency to clearly define the criteria for which big tech companies can receive legal immunity for moderating content on their platforms.

Tech giants including Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook are lobbying the FCC to allocate 1,200 MHz of spectrum on the 6 GHz band to Wi-Fi, meaning that they will be able to use it for free, without a license. An auction for spectrum usage could generate billions for the government.

Conservative Groups Urge Faster 5G Rollout to Beat China

Several conservative groups including FreedomWorks, R Street, and the Lincoln Network have sent a letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, urging a faster rollout of 5G technologies in the United States to beat China. According to the letter, if America doesn’t step up the race to 5G, it will fail to compete with China, “a potentially devastating but avoidable outcome.”
