Amazon Wants to Monitor Your Sleep Using Radar

Tech giant Amazon has been granted permission by the FCC to make a device that can monitor people’s sleep using radar. Government documents say that Amazon “plans to use the radar’s capability of capturing motion in a three-dimensional space to enable contactless sleep tracing functionalities.”

The estimated wealth of attendees tops $588 billion this year.

World’s Richest Man Jeff Bezos Steps Down as Amazon CEO

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has officially stepped down from his role as CEO of the e-commerce giant, being replaced by the company’s former web services CEO Andy Jassy. Bezos will continue with the company in the role of Executive Chair. The leadership handover is occurring just weeks before Bezos will fly into space with his brother.

MacKenzie Scott Gives Away Another $2.7 Billion of Jeff Bezos’ Money

MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has reportedly given away another $2.7 billion of the fortune she gained in divorce to 286 nonprofit organizations bringing her total donations so far to $8 billion. Scott wrote of the massive donation: “People struggling against inequities deserve center stage in stories about change they are creating.”

Amazon Introduces Consumer Surveillance Technology to Full-Size Grocery Stores

Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology, which eliminated cashiers in its Amazon Go convenience stores, has now been integrated into a full-size 25,000 square foot Amazon Fresh grocery store for the first time. The system uses camera surveillance, pressure-sensitive shelves, and biometric data to charge customers for items they put in their carts.
