CoinDesk’s big blockchain conference is off to a rough start, according to many of those attending the conference in New York City.

CoinDesk’s Consensus 2018 kicked off Monday but attendees at the three-day crypto conference began complaining even before the first panel began. The main gripe: epic long lines at the New York Hilton Midtown.

A source at the event sent Breitbart News some of the things overheard from aggravated ticketholders who paid as much as $3,000 (or about BTC 0.343) for the privilege of being “treated like cattle”:

“It’s like the Fyre Festival.”

“There are lines going simultaneously in both directions. Nobody seems to know what’s going on.”

“People were frustrated and angry. This is no way to run a conference.”

“It reminded me of being stranded at an airport—in a blizzard.”

“I felt like I was waiting in line to wait in line.”

“Beefy security guards are barking orders at us.”

“If the line gets much longer, this could go Lord of the Flies.”

Since this is the Current Year, people took to Twitter to complain:

According to the conference’s official site, more than 4,000 people registered this year, a significant jump from the 2,700 that showed up in 2017. However, sources at the conference say that as many as 7,000 people may be attendance at the moment.

“Perhaps Consensus 2019 will face what Yogi Berra once said of a popular restaurant: ‘Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded,'” one attendee said.

Coindesk did not respond to Breitbart’s request for comment.
