Mexican, Salvadoran Men Convicted in Human Smuggling Deaths in Texas

The last of six human smugglers pleaded guilty last week to the deaths of two Salvadoran migrants who were beaten to death in a warehouse in Houston in 2006. The two smugglers face up to life in prison following sentencing hearings set for next year.

Court Rules Biden Admin Wrong to Cut Texas Razor Wire on Border

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled on Wednesday that the State of Texas can continue to build razor wire border barriers. The court also ruled the Biden administration was wrong to cut the barriers put in place by the Texas National Guard under Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star.

Salvadoran Toddler Traveled Alone to U.S. Border to Find Parents, Says Texas DPS

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers found a two-year-old Salvadoran migrant girl who they say traveled by herself to the U.S. border with Mexico in search of her parents. The little girl crossed the border from Mexico into Texas with a large group of migrants, including 60 unaccompanied migrant children.

Governor Orders Arrest of Chinese Operatives Hunting Down Dissidents in Texas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order this week for the Department of Public Safety to “target and arrest any criminals executing” Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence operations. By a unanimous vote, the Texas House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee voted to subpoena a death row inmate in an apparent effort to delay the man’s execution. The committee voted to subpoena Robert Roberson, who is scheduled to be executed on Thursday in connection to a shaken baby death.
