Target CEO Brian Cornell Likens Corporation’s Bathroom Policy Stance to Civil Rights Stance in 1960s

Target CEO Brian Cornell appeared Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” to discuss Target’s decision to not back down from its decision to allow people to use whichever bathroom they self-identify with.

Cornell noted his corporation’s “long history of embracing diversity and inclusion,” and compared its current stance to their decision in the 1960s to include African-American models in advertising.

“Back then, it wasn’t well received. We had a lot of tough feedback. But sitting here today, we know we made the right decision,” he explained.
