19 Times the Media Portrayed Illegal Alien Wanted for Murder as a Victim of ICE

An illegal alien wanted for murder in Mexico and arrested last week by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been portrayed by the establishment media and left-wing activists as a victim of President Trump’s immigration enforcement.

When illegal alien Joel Arrona-Lara—wanted on homicide charges in Mexico—was arrested by ICE agents while driving his pregnant wife to the hospital in San Bernardino, California, the establishment media immediately portrayed the accused murderer as a victim of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration.

Establishment media outlets like the Washington Post, New York Daily News, Huffington Post, CNN, and the New York Times published reports on the case, portraying Arrona-Lara as a victim of ICE with sympathetic headlines.

Likewise, left-wing activists and pundits wrote online their sympathies for the illegal alien accused of homicide, saying his arrest was another example of why ICE needs to be abolished and called his arrested “monstrous.”

In a statement to Breitbart News, ICE officials said Arrona-Lara was originally brought to their attention after he was charged with homicide in Mexico. It remains unclear how long the illegal alien had been living in the U.S., and thus evading arrest in Mexico.
