President Donald Trump blasted ABC News Wednesday after the network broadcast the false claim that Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chief, pleaded guilty to five charges of manslaughter.
“Look what Fake ABC News put out. I guess they had it prepared from the 13 Angry Democrats leading the Witch Hunt!” read Trump’s tweet:
The “13 Angry Democrats” Trump is referring to are the lawyers hired by former Obama appointee and special counsel Robert Mueller, the man in charge of this witch hunt, which itself is based on the media hoax that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the 2016 presidential election.
All of Mueller’s so-called “investigators” are left-wing Democrats, many of whom donated money to Hillary Clinton.
Although the establishment media have been a fire hose of fake news for years now, ABC’s fake news report on Manafort is still quite a standout.
While Trump made a statement about immigration Wednesday, the left-wing news outlet flashed an utterly false chyron that read, “Manafort pleads guilty to 5 charges of manslaughter.”
Manafort has not been charged with manslaughter, and there are no allegations Manafort committed manslaughter. In fact, there is not a single act of violence — rumored or otherwise — attached to Manafort.
The charges Mueller filed against Manafort have nothing to do with any kind of violence, and Manafort has not even pleaded guilty to those.
ABC News tweeted a hollow apology Wednesday, but this was not some on-air mistake made by a pundit who misspoke. A chryon is a deliberate act, an event that only happens after it is created, typed out, and flashed across the screen.
Keep in mind that this is the same ABC News that lied about Trump’s directing Mike Flynn to contact the Russians during the campaign; the same ABC News that disguises Clintonista George Stephanopoulos as an unbiased news anchor; the same ABC News that falsely claimed George Zimmerman was not injured during his encounter with Trayvon Martin; the same ABC News with a top executive who is the brother of a former adviser to Barack Obama.
It is almost impossible to interpret this as anything other than a deliberate attempt by ABC News to, once again, mislead and misinform the American people.
It is also worth mentioning that “mistakes” like this never happen to Democrats.
