He went from whistle blower to convict, then from man to woman, and now Bradley Manning is set to debut as a contributing writer to The Guardian U.S.
The announcement was made by Katharine Viner, the editor-in-chief for Guardian U.S. on Tuesday.
In 2013 Army private Bradley Manning was convicted of leaking national secrets to WikiLeaks. Manning was given a 35-year sentence in Fort Leavenworth prison for breaching national security.
After being convicted of leaking national secrets, Manning began to transition to a woman while in jail and wrote a piece on the process for the Guardian.
Viner revealed that Manning will write about war, gender, and freedom of information issues.
Politico also reported that the Daily Beast’s Ben Jacobs and The Huffington Post’s Sabrina Siddiqui have also joined the Guardian.
