The real news here is that even though she selfishly and recklessly violated her Ebola quarantine and maybe even her Hippocratic Oath (for a soup run at a nearby restaurant), NBC News might still bring Dr. Nancy Snyderman back on the air as Chief Medical Correspondent. In the meantime, NBC appears to be trying out a possible replacement.

TVNewsper reports that Dr. Natalie Azar has now done medical correspondent duties on NBC’s “Nightly News” and “Today Show.”

According to Page Six, Snyderman’s quarantine was up a full two weeks ago; meaning she could have returned to her regular correspondent duties any time now. Instead, a memo from NBC News president Deborah Turness said that Snyderman was taking time off to be with her family and would return to work sometime in November.
