Former Clinton spokesperson Chris Lehane, the author of the original right-wing conspiracy memo, pens a piece in Politico lamenting that there is more conservative media than ever before.
Lehane points to investigations on Benghazi, the IRS scandals, and the Solyndra disaster as “nothingburger stories get duly hyped on zillions of right-wing websites.”
Chief among them, Lehane points out, is the Drudge Report, which, he admits, “boasts more traffic than ever, though it looks pretty much the same as it did during the Clinton years.”
Since that time, Lehane notes, conservatives continue to get their information from different sources on the Internet and are even creating it themselves.
Lehane scoffed at his critics: “[I]t’s clear today, 20 years later, that we were exactly right–more than we could have imagined!”
