Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) appeared on the inaugural episode of Breitbart News Saturday and said that outlets like Breitbart News are important because the mainstream media sold their souls to get President Barack Obama elected, which is why they help him sweep his scandals under the rug.
Gohmert, who was one of the late Andrew Breitbart’s closest friends in Congress, said it was disturbing that so mainstream media members “will do whatever it takes to keep from losing all that they got from selling their souls.”
“The so-called mainstream is not about the truth anymore,” Gohmert told Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon, who, along with a rotation of Breitbart News editors and contributors, will host the weekly Saturday show.
Gohmert said it is disturbing that the mainstream press are “looking the other way on scandals” like Benghazi and Fast and Furious and “vilifying anything that comes out” that may be “truthful about their guy” Obama.
He also blamed the Republican establishment that he said gave away the last bit of leverage they had on the debt ceiling to accomplish anything meaningful for not standing up against the media when they help Obama.
The inaugural episode of Breitbart News Saturday aired on the two-year anniversary of the tragic death of Andrew Breitbart.
