Life would be so much easier for CNN, Wolf Blitzer, and the rest of the mainstream media if they would just come out and admit that they want to destroy Republicans and empower Democrats. If Wolf would just use his outside voice to admit to that, no one would care about the phony outrage campaign he ginned up this week to benefit the campaign of Democrat Wendy Davis. Instead, Blitzer and CNN have had to foolishly pretend they are mad at 70’s rocker Ted Nugent.
Blitzer and CNN could not care less that Nugent called President Obama a “subhuman mongrel.” If they did care, Blitzer and CNN would have expressed outrage when Nugent said it way back last month. Everyone knew Nugent said it. But there was no outrage from CNN. Not a peep.
Instead, this week, CNN chose to pretend the comment suddenly outraged them just so they could attack Republican Greg Abbott, who is running against Wendy Davis to become governor of Texas. This was a pose on CNN’s part. Period.
We also know that Blitzer and CNN could not care less about entertainers who say terrible things about politicians because this is the first time CNN has ever launched a jihad against an entertainer for saying a terrible thing. This, despite the fact that there are all kinds of examples of left-wing entertainers saying terrible things about Republican politicians.
The best example is Bill Maher referring to Sarah Palin as a “c*nt” sometime in 2011. Unless Wolf and CNN want to claim that calling someone a “c*nt” is better than calling someone a “mongrel,” why do Wolf and CNN continue to give Maher a pass?
After calling Palin a “c*nt,” numerous left-wing pols and media-types have APPEARED WITH Maher on his HBO show. CNN has never held that against any of them. In fact, after calling Palin a “c*nt” Maher has not only been a guest on CNN, Maher has been a fill-in guest host for CNN. Just months after calling Palin a “c*nt” Maher filled in for Piers Morgan.
Simply put, the same CNN currently waging a jihad against Greg Abbott for appearing with a celebrity who called Obama a “mongrel” is the same CNN that invited a celebrity who called Palin a c*unt to appear on their network.
The problem when you are desperately trying to pose as objective, when the truth is that you are not, is that you have to make up all these absurd rules as you go along and look wildly hypocritical and unethical while doing so.
The examples of left-wing celebrities who support Democrats saying indefensible things stretches back to the beginning of 2000 when George W. Bush was elected president. But you don’t even have to go back that far. Wendy Davis herself has openly associated with a left-wing comedian who regularly mocks Christians and engages in racist humor.
CNN has never ginned up a phony outrage campaign against Wendy Davis over this. And that’s because CNN has no editorial standards other than to use their network as a force to benefit Democrats.
According to CNN’s standards, Nugent’s mistake wasn’t saying something reprehensible. After all, had he called Palin a “c*nt” instead of Obama a “mongrel,” he’d be guest-hosting for Wolf Blitzer today, not facing the fifth day of Wolf’s phony partisan controvery.
