MSNBC: Little Sisters of the Poor a 'Threat to Obamacare'

MSNBC’s Alex Wagner has proclaimed the unassuming Catholic nuns of the Little Sisters of the Poor to be a “threat” to Obama and his takeover of our nation’s healthcare system.

It was during the January 6 broadcast of Now With Alex Wagner that the show’s host made her pronouncement of the “threat” the nuns present to Obama.

In setting up her segment on Obamacare and the lawsuit the Catholic nuns have filed, Wagner said: “The administration must now deal with this latest threat to the nation’s health care law: these ladies, the Little Sister of the Poor.”

Wagner claimed, “It seems this administration has bent over backwards to ensure that people can exercise their religion. Wagner went on to insist, “Women’s lives are being saved by provisions in the Affordable Care Act.”

Any number of religious institutions and devoutly religious owners of businesses would disagree about Obama’s benevolence.

Cecile Richards, president of abortion provider Planned Parenthood, also jumped in to attack the Catholic nuns.

“First of all, this is an argument about whether the Sisters of the Poor have the right to force their views of religion on all their employees,” Richards claimed. “They’re trying to make this an argument about whether they’re gonna sign a paper or not. If the court should decide they don’t have to sign the paper they essentially get to force their religion on all their employees.”

Of this, Cortney O’Brien of LifeNews.com makes a salient point.

“Isn’t it safe to say people who willingly applied to work for the Little Sisters of the Poor are more likely than not to hold the same religious beliefs as their employer?” O’Brien asked.
