Breitbart Team: 2013 Year of Conservative Victories

On the last Breitbart News Sunday of 2013, host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon invited Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow and Deputy Managing Editor Ezra Dulis to share their insights about the past year. Broadcast on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 from 7PM to 10PM EST, it was a special end-of-the- year show, which host Bannon dubbed “The 2013 Year of Victories Show.”

Marlow was all business and exuded urgency. He summons all conservatives to “the foot race of our lives,” warning them that the left is in a constant sprint to uproot traditional American values. The Breitbart Editor-in-Chief insisted that conservatives must continue to establish “new media properties” like Breitbart.com and Breitbart News Sunday in order to stop the left’s encroachment on free speech, as GLAAD and A&E recently demonstrated in the recent Duck Dynasty imbroglio.

Although “Obama rode out of the 2012 election as the Emperor of the Planet, with his surprising electoral win over Romney and his wielding of the Newtown tragedy as a weapon against the 2^nd amendment,” it was still a very good year for conservatives, according to Marlow.

As 2013 developed, Obama was “systematically defeated by a conservative grass roots movement that diminished gun control and immigration reform while defeating a farm bill.” Marlow admitted that the 2013 budget and government shut down were marginal victories for Obama and the Democrats. However, the IRS targeting, the overwhelming self implosion of the healthcare.gov website, the Obamacare chaos, and the NSA debate all contributed to big victories for conservatives and proved to be a nightmare for the Obama administration. 

Deputy Managing Editor Ezra Dulis emphasized how in 2013 Tea Party favorites Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) helped Republicans shed the label of being the “Party of No,” showing that they do care and that they can put forth alternative ideas to establishment Republicans and Democrats. Dulis asserted that we need more conservative voices and grassroots pressure on establishment politicians and the “cultural left.”

Bannon thanked Marlow and Dulis for doing a great job in 2013 and said he anticipates a great 2014 for both of them in getting the Breitbart message out.
