Wendy Davis Leads WaPo's 'Women Who Made a Difference in 2013'

On Saturday, The Washington Post revealed its “Women who made a difference in 2013.” Topping the list was Texas State Senator Wendy Davis, who filibustered for 11 hours against a Texas law that prevented abortion after 20 weeks and put safety restrictions on abortion clinics. Davis, who accomplished nothing with her filibuster (the law passed easily), quickly became a national name thanks to the celebration of the pro-abortion media.

The Post reported: “By leading a filibuster against an abortion bill, she inspired supporters of abortion rights nationwide – and by October, she was running for governor of the Lone Star State.”

Other figures named by The Post included Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor (the Post describes her as filled with “spirit and sass”); conciliatory Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) (the Post asks, “If more women were in power in Congress, would the United States have such divisive political leadership?”); PBS Newshour‘s Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill; and Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen (“she spoke of helping all the American people”).
