Former President Jimmy Carter adviser Pat Caddell said the shocking Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report that found President Barack Obama has held no one-on-one meetings with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare has revealed Obama’s “inexperience in handling crisis.”
Appearing on Fox News’ Cavuto Thursday, Caddell discussed the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report that found that since Obamacare was signed on March 23, 2010, Obama met with “various Cabinet secretaries a total of 277 times” while not meeting alone with Sebelius.
In the public record, there was just “one instance of Secretary Sebelius meeting jointly with the President and Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner.”
Caddell said other presidents would meet face-to-face with such officials and ask them, “what are you doing? What’s wrong?” He said Obama should have met with Sebelius every week, but he was not surprised by the report because “this is reflective” of the person in charge, who Caddell said was “not engaged” and not a “hands-on” president.
“He is strangely disengaged,” Caddell said, asserting that Obama’s only interest is in giving speeches. Caddell said Obama is “all about props and talk.” He declared Obama and his advisers believe they are better and smarter than the American people and believe they can lie to them because they are serving what they think is the larger good.
GAI President and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer made similar comments on Hannity Wednesday night when unveiling the report, noting that Obama’s calendar reveals what he cares most about.
“In the case of President Obama, If you look at his calendar, there is no evidence whatsoever that he is focused or has much interest in health care at all,” Schweizer said.
