After ignoring and excusing multiple anti-gay slurs from MSNBC host Alec Baldwin, GLAAD has finally spoken out, timidly, against the “pattern of anti-gay slurs” from the actor-turned news host:
This statement, from GLAAD VP of Communications Rich Ferraro, came hours after GLAAD’s National Director of News Ross Murray told TruthRevolt:
I don’t know what he’s thinking when he says what he says. I know he’s someone who has worked with us in the past. That’s why it gets hard when he comes back and does the same thing over and over again. We will have to take some time and think about how to respond.
Of course, when GLAAD rightly refers to Baldwin’s “pattern” of anti-gay slurs, it calls GLAAD’s past behavior into question. If Baldwin has a “pattern,” then why didn’t GLAAD call him out over his past infractions of their PC speech code?
