TruthRevolt.org reports today that the media’s coverage of government shutdown victims was overwhelming during the October 1 through October 16 period, while the media’s coverage of victims of Obamacare was miniscule. “Since October 1, when the government shutdown began, the media have run dozens upon dozens of stories about victims of the shutdown. Over the same period of time, the media have run virtually no stories about businesses suffering thanks to Obamacare, low-income people victimized by the new Obamacare tax, and economic chaos thanks to the impact of Obamacare,” Ben Shapiro writes.

Assessing the last sixteen days of coverage at The Washington Post, TruthRevolt.org found that the Post website carried over 220 stories on victims of the government shutdown, as opposed to just three on victims of Obamacare. TruthRevolt.org did not count coverage of the Obamacare glitches, which has typically been slanted in order to suggest that Americans want Obamacare but are troubled by the technical implementation of the website.

The New York Times clocked in with a hefty 80 stories on the government shutdown victims, as opposed to zero on victims of Obamacare. And the networks were no better: ABC World News spent 21 minutes on victims of the government shutdown, while CBS News spent over 30 minutes and NBC News spent 27 minutes. None spent a single moment covering victims of Obamacare itself.

“Overall, the Washington Post and New York Times covered victims of the government shutdown over victims of Obamacare by a margin of 100 to 1; ABC, NBC, and CBS News all covered victims of the government shutdown over victims of Obamacare by a margin of over 78 minutes to zero,” Shapiro concludes.
