AP reporter Julie Pace said the body language Obama used when asked about Benghazi during his Friday press conference showed he did not want to talk about the subject.
According to The Washington Free Beacon, Obama’s strained response came after Fox News correspondent Ed Henry asked about the president’s pledge the day after the assault that “those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.”
Obama responded:
I also said that we’d get bin Laden and I didn’t get him in 11 months. So we have informed, I think, the public that there’s a sealed indictment. It’s sealed for a reason, but we are intent on capturing those who carried out this attack, and we’re going to stay on it until we get [them]. This remains a top priority for us.
Talking to Fox News’ Bret Baier about the president’s response, Julie Pace said:
It was very interesting to just listen to the president’s words and listen to his body language, watch his body language. Often when he answers questions in these press conferences he’s very expansive with his answers. When he answered that question on Benghazi, it was a very short, tight, concise answer. Clearly something he didn’t necessarily want to be talking about.
