The media aren’t all that interested in Bill Maher calling an innocent five-year-old child a “retard,” and seem to be even less interested in a Democratic lawmaker hurling a racial slur at Justice Clarence Thomas yesterday. But pounding away at the Food Network’s Paula Deen over some racist moments in her past has been a very high media priority going back to last week.
Thanks to the media, we are also seeing a lot of video of Paula Deen, and learning a lot about her past. But what we are not seeing is the 2008 video below where Deen physically embraces First Lady Michelle Obama and gushes over how she is reminiscent of Jackie Onassis.

This video is likely provided a big boost for Barack Obama, who was running for president at the time.
Deen is a Democrat who campaigned for and supported Obama in 2008. In other words, Deen wanted Obama to be the first black president.
If any of this fascinating video and background information is playing a role in any of the media coverage, I haven’t seen it.
