Sometimes the Internet is fun–and Breitbart’s own Brandon Darby had a ball slamming the profane Wonkette after it accused him of being a “snitch” for helping the FBI stop a domestic bombing in 2008, and claimed that Darby had lied about the Aryan Brotherhood’s connections to Mexican drug cartels thought to be implicated in a string of murders of prosecutors.
Darby used to be a prominent organizer on the left but when he became aware of a popular Palestinian nonprofit’s efforts to kill Israeli civilians, he approached the FBI. The FBI later tasked Darby with infiltrating an anarchist effort to prevent Republicans from assembling during the 2008 RNC. While helping protect the rights of those attending the RNC, a bombing plot against Republican delegates and law enforcement officers was uncovered and Darby ultimately chose to testify against the bomb-makers and his identity was released.
Whether Wonkette was upset at Darby for protecting Israeli civilians or for protecting Republican delegates and law enforcement officers, or both, is unknown. Regardless, Wonkette called him a “snitch” for his service.
But Wonkette’s newest attack on Darby is over his latest Breitbart piece, “FBI Documents Connect Aryan Brotherhood with Mexican Cartels.” In it, Darby points out that the Aryan Brotherhood isn’t just about white supremacy anymore.
As Darby reported, “several law enforcement personnel from the FBI and other agencies confirmed with Breitbart News that the Aryan Brotherhood’s criminal activities are seldom driven by race; their focuses are drug and sex trafficking, as well as murder-for-hire.” Darby’s piece also references an official 2011 FBI report on gangs and over twenty years worth of now declassified internal FBI reports showing the Aryan Brotherhood’s long-standing collaboration with Mexican-organized crime networks.
So what does Wonkette say? In an absurd article and Tweet, Wonkette purposefully mischaracterizes Darby’s central thesis saying, “Breitbart’s Brandon Darby: Aryan Brotherhood Can’t Be Racist Because They Have Mexican Friends.”
In its hit piece, Wonkette digs Darby as a ‘”start snitching’ correspondent” who “produced a piece filled with so much non-sensical dog vomit that,” blah, blah, blah, and ridicules Darby for saying that the Aryan Brotherhood is not solely motivated by racism. Wonkette is completely unable to understand the truth, as stated by law enforcement officials, that the Aryan Brotherhood can find its way clear to work with the “brown” people when it comes to making huge cash profits via its criminal enterprises. The folks at Wonkette can’t (or won’t) grasp this and think that because the Aryan Brotherhood are racist, they can’t possibly be able to sublimate their racism for giant stacks of cash. Wonkette has no capacity for nuance, it appears
Of course, contra Wonkette, Darby didn’t say that the Aryan Brotherhood “can’t be racist” because they are working with the Mexican cartels. He didn’t say that at all. He just said that racism is not the group’s sole motivation for its activities these days. The two goals are not mutually exclusive.
Darby’s points were backed up by others in the media, too. Several days after Darby posted his initial piece about the Brotherhood, Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro re-played the same points ,saying that it’s really all about the money for the Brotherhood and that motivation likely has little to do with white supremacy.
“The National Gang Intelligence Center says the Ayran Brotherhood works directly with the Mexican Cartels to protect the Cartel’s smuggling routes, to collect debts, transport illicit goods, and execute rival drug traffickers,” Pirro affirms.
“Clearly there’s more to this than white supremacy.”
Sadly, Wonkette is intellectually unable to grasp the facts around this far reaching and developing story.
Meanwhile, as Twitchy pointed out, Darby and others had a ball slamming Wonkette for its evident inability to understand the news. Darby himself repaired to Twitter to slam the liberal website:
Strange for you to attack me, @wonkette. I thought you only attacked children with Down’s syndrome, like you did with Trig Palin.
— Brandon Darby (@brandondarby) April 5, 2013
Awww… The libs are mad that an honest discussion on Mexican cartels operating in the US is occurring, despite left media efforts.
— Brandon Darby (@brandondarby) April 5, 2013
Maybe @wonkette shouldn’t say I said things I didn’t say. But, expecting decency from people who said Trig Palin was a product of incest…

Funny. @wonkette has received more attention from my few tweets than their dried up, shriveled, prune of a site has received this year.

Go get ’em, Brandon.
