Iran’s state-run news agency FARS altered an image of First Lady Michelle Obama presenting the Best Picture Oscar at Sunday’s Academy Awards. The photo showing Obama on a giant screen hovering over the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood was photoshopped to cover the First Lady’s cleavage.
Ironically, the film Obama was honoring was “Argo,” which tells the story of the Iranian hostage crisis. Critics in the Iranian government have called the film an “advertisement for the CIA.” The semiofficial Mehr news agency called the Oscar “politically motivated” because Obama, live from the White House via video link, presented the best picture award.
