San Francisco Newspaper Decline Leaves Puppies in Own Poop

In San Francisco, the decline in newspaper circulation might mean the city is going to the dogs. 

San Francisco’s animal control agency is concerned that with the advent of digital media and the concomitant decline in printed newspapers, there will not be enough paper to line the cages of the puppies it houses.

The animal control workers see this as a serious problem, so serious that they are now working with the public library to obtain old newspapers. Supervisor Eric Zuercher was blunt, calling the shelter’s puppies “poop machines.” The newspapers that the public and the San Francisco Chronicle donated have dried up.

But considering the Chronicle‘s political leanings, it’s a sad day; they can’t even fill the niche which fits them most naturally–puppy crap.
