They never learn. Well meaning Republicans pressured by media hacks interested only in supporting left-wing policies end up compromising on principles and, instead of getting praise, they get hammered by those same media hacks.
The latest example of the damned if you do, damned if you don’t media double standard happened moments ago on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Joe Scarborough’s coffee clatch is an arena that constantly criticizes Republicans for being “unreasonable” and beholden to the “radical” tea party wing of their party. You’d think they’d celebrate the Republicans who voted the President’s way and reversed their pledge to not raise income tax rates on American workers.
Think again.
Scarborough himself lamented the mismanagement of the Republican leaders and proclaimed himself “bitter” over the botched negotiations. Then Time magazine’s Mark Halperin ripped Paul Ryan in the cruelest way possible, saying he “could be a strong candidate for president in 2016 as a Democrat.”
Republicans, learn this lesson: The media does not like you. You can’t win with them. The more you act like Democrats, the more you lose on both sides, with your own base as well as the corrupt media who suck you in every single time.
