Photo of George Zimmerman Shows Bloody Nose on Night of Trayvon Martin Shooting

The media and public have passionately debated whether George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Florida youth Trayvon Martin in February of this year, could justifiably claim self-defense.

Progressive media outlets attempted to downplay the wounds Zimmerman sustained in his altercation with Martin. ABC News initially used a low-resolution security camera video to claim Zimmerman had no visible head wounds before correcting that report when a more detailed version of the video surfaced. Weeks later, ABC released a close-up photo showing blood on the back of Zimmerman’s head at the scene of the incident.

Over half a year later, a website following Mr. Zimmerman’s trial has published a photograph taken by police showing him with a bloody nose the night of the shooting, consistent with a partial police report of the night’s events.

ABC News obtained surveillance video for publication from the police but not this particular photo. No other news outlets were able to acquire the photo; the police submitted the high-resolution digital photo to Zimmerman’s lawyers in the State’s 9th Supplemental Discovery on October 29th.
