Politico Declares Tax Study Co-Authored By Former Obama WH Employee 'Nonpartisan'

Absolutely shameless “reporting” from Jennifer Epstein at the corrupt Politico:

President Obama is set to attack Mitt Romney on Wednesday for pushing tax reforms that would cut taxes for the rich while raising the burden on other taxpayers.

It’s an argument that Obama often makes, but as he speaks in Mansfield, Ohio, it will come with the added weight of a new report from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center — which is affiliated with the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution — that backs up his claim. …

The report, released Wednesday, finds “it is not mathematically possible to design a revenue-neutral plan that preserves current incentives for savings and investment and that does not result in a net tax cut for high-income taxpayers and a net tax increase for lower- and/or middle-income taxpayers.”

Even if some tax breaks for the rich were eliminated, a tax burden of $86 billion would fall on people making less than $200,000 annually. Overall, the study concludes, 95 percent of Americans would see their taxes rise by an average of $500 annually, while millionaires would see an $87,000 tax cut.

NOWHERE, in this act of propaganda meant to tee-up Obama’s latest round of anti-Romney lies, does Epstein mention the fact that this so-called “nonpartisan” study so devastating to Romney is co-authored by someone who, until last year, worked in the Obama White House.

Adam Looney is one of three authors of this study and, between 2009-10, he was the senior economist for public finance and tax policy with the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.

In a Tweet referring directly to this Politico propaganda, The Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes summed it up perfectly:

If reporters are going to cite “non-partisan” study pushed by Obama campaign, relevant to point out one author worked for Obama WH, no?

At the risk of answering a rhetorical question — uhm, no.

As we’ve already seen with the Bain attacks, one of the Obama campaign’s tactics is to openly and audaciously lie in order to keep Romney and his team on defense. And from the corrupt media, all we’ve seen as a response is them letting Obama get away with it.

We have 97 days to go, and we need to stop being surprised by the media, because this isn’t bias — it’s corruption; it’s aiding and abetting.
