Will MSM Continue to Give Michael Moore a Pass on Questionable Attack Claims?

Over the past few days I’ve watched anti-American filmmaker Michael Moore make the rounds on various interview shows so he can push his new book “Here Comes Trouble.” In many of the interviews, the Oscar-winner discussed the various threats and attacks he claims to have suffered as a result of what he describes as the “daily” hate ginned up against him by talk radio and Fox News. This was the price the brave Mr. Moore paid after speaking! truth! to! power! in opposition to the Iraq War.

Yesterday, in a Big Hollywood exclusive, reporter Phelim McAleer did the kind of digging the MSM used to and found that three of the most sensational attacks Moore claims to have been a near-victim of cannot be corroborated or verified:

Mr. Moore can clear up this matter very quickly by releasing the link. He could also explain why there are no reports of these violent assaults in the media (that I could find) even though two of them took place at a press conference and a public event. He should also hire new publicist – because their failure to release these records has led to unnecessary and unwelcome publicity.

Mr. Moore could also release medical records, suitably anonymized to protect the ex-Seals identities. He could tell us the date of each alleged assault and exact location – and the names of independent witnesses who were there.

And Mr. Moore could release copies of the relevant police reports and let us know what happened at subsequent court hearings – if there were any.

In the current media age,, we’ve come to expect partisans disguised as objective journalists to fawn unquestionably and show no curiosity when it comes to fellow travellers like Michael Moore. But you would think the possibility that they’ve been lied to over the past few days would override any admiration one might have for another’s politics.

Furthermore, I’d like to see examples of the “daily” hate, as well.

Now even I know I’m asking for too much.
