Anatomy of a Comparative Defensive: Comparing Hoffa to Palin

In a write-up of Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s vitriolic rhetoric in announcing President Obama (wherein he called tea partiers “sons of bitches” declaring the union audience a willing “army” for Obama that was willing to “take out” a portion of America) Zara Golden states:

Hoffa’s violent rhetoric is the sort that Sarah Palin was charged with in the days following Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford‘s shooting earlier this year, a sort of rhetoric that all sides should be weary of no matter who started it.

It would be helpful for Golden to provide Palin remarks comparable to those of Hoffa’s, not the “crosshairs” cited by progressives who compromised their objectivity when they sanctioned the use of such marks by Democrats (the DLC, specifically) before they appeared on Palin’s map:

If Golden cannot provide a Palin sound bite, comparable to Hoffa’s words, wherein Palin calls progressives “sons of bitches” and threatens to “take them out,” she may want to retract her last paragraph so that it does not take away from an otherwise solid piece.
