I’ve never given much thought to Elisabeth Hasselbeck as a pundit until her remarks following the Tuscon shooting when I decided I would give less thought to her than before.
“It’s an abuse of the Second Amendment …” Said Hasselbeck of using target and crosshair symbols. Her criticism was directed towards Sarah Palin. Hasselbeck was silent on the DLC map and other Democrats’ similar graphics and actual vitriolic speech – all of which were made and used eons before the tragedy.
Sorry, but when your remarks are indistinguishable from the kooky propaganda parroted by progressives, you don’t convince folks of your “conservatism.”
Romney fan Hasselbeck took another swipe at Palin recently, blaming Palin’s bus tour as the reason no one was paying attention to Mitt Romney.
“If I had termites in my house I’d get someone in there who could deal with it,” the former contestant on “Survivor” explained. “Mitt Romney, right now, his specialty is the economy. I’d have him in there. Here’s why we’re not hearing it: because Sarah Palin’s on a bus and right now she’s manipulating, in terms of media attention.”
Romney, who makes tea partiers cringe with his waffling on various issues, including his steadfast defense of global warming (used to prop up economy-killing regulations) and his refusal to back away from acknowledging that his European socialist health care plan for Massachusetts was a failure.
The first and clearly enumerated responsibility of the president is defense. Here’s what a presidential candidate needs to know about the economy: the government should keep out of business, period. It’s not difficult to understand the limitations of the federal power as outlined clearly in the Constitution.
This is Romney’s second go at the White House. It’s not that his economic policies aren’t getting attention, it’s that people don’t agree with that which I’ve mentioned above.
Hasselbeck innocently asks why Palin won’t take her calls now. If someone played partisan parlor games with me and previously suggested that I was responsible for the shooting deaths perpetrated by a nutjob who listed Mein Kampf and The Communist Manifesto as his favorite books, I frankly wouldn’t take their calls, either.
