To Benefit Obama, Matt Lauer & Politico's Jonathan Martin Casually Smear Right as Extremists

If you’re tired of hearing me remind you that the corrupt MSM’s 2012 gameplan is to keep a relentlessly hostile spotlight on the Right in order to ensure Obama’s re-election, you’re going to get a lot more tired of it before this is all over. Simply put, if 2012 is a referendum on Obama, he loses, and so the media will stop at nothing to target the Right and make the election all about us for the next 19 months. Any narrative that can be created to destroy us will be, and as you’ll see below, the MSM track is already being laid to create an insidious wedge between Republicans and the crucial Independents Obama will need to recapture the White House.

We’ll start with the Today Show’s Matt Lauer. Please listen closely (you’ll have to scroll down some at the NewsBusters page):

“…and when you look at some of the things the Tea Party and others on the far right….”

One of the Left’s favorite rhetorical tricks is to oh-so casually state the most dishonest and outrageous things; the idea being to send a message that this is now a settled matter and no longer in dispute — a well-known, universally accepted fact. See how that works? Lauer knows exactly what he’s doing here. He’s sending a message to millions of Americans that the Tea Party is “far right,” is scary and extremist. And naturally this all fits into a larger puzzle the corrupt MSM is currently fitting together about the “scary” Republican Party as a whole — you know, as opposed to President Obama aka Mr. Calm, Cool and Reasonably Centrist.

The plan? Scare the crucial Independent vote back into the Obama 2012 camp. Isn’t that obvious?

Furthermore, do you think Lauer ever uses the term “Far Left” to describe MoveOn, Media Matters, or the Daily Kos? A good faith search of Google and Media Matters says no.

My next example is even worse. But first some background on one of my favorite “journalists,” who really should be one of yours… one Mr. Jonathan Martin of Politico.

Everything you need to know about Mr. Martin you will find right here. A private citizen who would come to be known as Joe the Plumber was minding his own business one day when Barack Obama ambled on over for a photo-op with a few bitter-clingers. Obama was running for president, Joe asked a simple question, Obama bungled it and suddenly found himself in some political trouble over “spread the wealth.” And what did Obama’s corrupt MSM Palace Guards do…?

—–

They waged a war of personal destruction against a private citizen who was minding his own business and asked a perfectly reasonable question, and Mr. Martin wall all-too eager to jump right on in. What kind of media digs up dirt on a private citizen to protect a candidate (when Nixon did it, it was called “ratfucking”)? Well, that would be our mainstream media, and ever vigilant in his crusade to destroy anything or anyone who might be a political threat to His One, here was Jonathan Martin the other day, piling on with his pal Matt Lauer.

High on the front page of a major 1300 word look at how the GOP landscape has changed, readers were treated to the following: [emphasis mine]

But more important, conservatives here, as elsewhere, have been radicalized. What began as disappointment in the fiscal sins they believe were committed by the Bush White House has now turned into rage and fear over the policies pursued by President Obama, who they see as nothing short of a wild-eyed liberal intent on turning America into France.

Shorter Jonathan Martin: Radicalized conservatives are now driven by fear and rage by some monster that doesn’t really exist. Paranoid. Angry. Scared. Fringe. BOO!

I guess smearing rank-and file Republicans with a broad brush is less work than looking into their individual tax records. For now.

Are you on Facebook? Are you on Twitter? We are all activists now. We are all citizen journalists now. Out these people. Spread the word. Be polite, be respectful, but find them online and question them. They read emails, Facebook and their own Twitter feeds, believe me. And it’s very easy:

Mr. Lauer: Who on the Left do you call the “far left”?

Mr. Martin: What do you mean by radicalized? Why do you paint us all with a broad brush.

Mr. Lauer and Mr. Martin: Are you aware of this, this, and this? Who are the real radicals here?

Because they’re the self-appointed Watchmen, they don’t like to be watched, but they need to be. So…

Get involved.

Get online.

You don’t even have to leave your couch anymore.

But what you can’t do is nothing.
