They’ve turned her name into a verb. Refudiate?
The group founded by Van Jones (remember him?) is breathless in their hysteria and somehow managed to blame Andrew Breitbart for the words which fell from the mouths of Planned Parenthood employees.
The rightwing smear machine that took down Shirley Sherrod, Van Jones and ACORN is at it again. This time they are going after Planned Parenthood.
Are the willful actions of employees part of the “rightwing smear machine?” [Editor’s note: Dibbs on the band name.] Unless … oh my: Andrew Breitbart has discovered a cloaking capability which allows him to, sight unseen, manipulate the words and actions of individuals across the country from him.
How ironic, then, that extremist anti-choice activists released an edited, distortion-filled video on Tuesday using footage from their undercover visit to a New Jersey clinic. In the video they had the impudence to accuse Planned Parenthood(!) of helping to cover up a sex ring trafficking in underage female prostitutes. And how utterly offensive to make up a story about child sex slaves — a real and heinous crime — in the service of their extreme political agenda.2
Edited? The whole tape was released. Distortion filled? Unless Lila Rose used the magic-version of Final Cut and created the speech from thin air (which sounded just like the voices of Woodruff and the others) there is no distortion.
So it was offensive to do to Planned Parenthood what Dateline NBC with “To Catch a Predator” but NOT offensive to offer to facilitate it.
Make no mistake: real girls were and are at stake. This investigation rooted out the people who may have (or have, does anyone really know?) out girls at risk. I imagine that Credo would still be on Planned Parenthood’s side.
The video was posted Tuesday on “Big Journalism” the web site run by Andrew Breitbart. You may recall that Breitbart is the serial race-baiter who released a heavily edited video of Shirley Sherrod, then an official with the USDA.
Once more, with feeling: if the Sherrod tape was “heavily edited” then that means the NAACP edited it because it was the NAACP’s video which they had on their site in full. An excerpt doesn’t mean “edited.” So are they saying that the NAACP edited their own video?
The implications are staggering. Women could be forced to bring a child to term in instances where they are drugged and raped, where the woman says “No” but does not physically fight off her rapist, or statutory rape where a minor is impregnated by an adult.
Actually, abortions due to rape or incest constitute less than 1% of total abortions, and, as I wrote the other day, abortions are used most often for birth control. Nice try to pretend to advocate for women’s rights by fighting for female genocide with a bunk argument.
