Most realize that Eric Boehlert, Media Matters’ chief media nutter and Podesta bottle washer, misfires more often that a recently paroled bank robber getting his first lap dance in some seedy downtown dive. Such was the case on January 14 when, true to form, Boehlert stepped out and in it when a troubled James Eric Fuller tried to blame everyone he disagreed with politically for the Tuscon massacre. Tweeted Boehlert:

Countdown to @michellemalkin, @andrewbreitbart smearing wounded veteran (James Eric Fuller) from Tuscon massacre begins…..now;

Unfortunately, before the digital ink had dried on Boehlert’s post which took yet another misfired shot at his political opposition, Fuller went from Leftist hero to goat and was promptly discarded as Boehlert’s latest local hero. If media malpractice and errant, unfounded attacks were a form of pornography, Eric Boehlert would qualify as the self-humiliating bukkake queen of the Podesta evil empire. Unsightly as he is to scope, our thinking is someone like Boehlert shouldn’t be allowed to go forever without having the cross-hairs fixed on him at some point.

Reporting from Tucson and Los Angeles — A man who was wounded in last week’s shooting rampage in Tucson was apprehended by authorities Saturday after he allegedly threatened a “tea party” activist at a town hall meeting of victims and eyewitnesses of the attack.

Now, today, we see that Boehlert is at it, again– calling for Andrew Breitbart to expunge a post from Big Government dated March 25, 2010 in the wake of the passage of Obamacare.

It’s also the blog post he should apologize for, especially in the wake of the recent assassination attempt against a Democratic member of Congress. Media Matters last week highlighted the blog post in question as part of our effort to show how in the past, players in the right-wing media were quick to mock and downplay death threats and acts of political violence when the targets were Democrats.

Of course, Boehlert can’t point to any stories of mass arrests stemming from actual threats to Congress members back in March; nor can he accept that it might be unwise for a democratically-elected government to shove bad legislation down the throats of the American people in the middle of the night. In fact, in Boehlert’s distorted, Leftist view, any and all criticisms of progressive government should be off limits. Such seem to be the constant pleadings of the statist troll carrying water for Big Government progressives under the guise of a non-partisan non-profit. Naturally we stand by the post. We just wouldn’t want to be caught standing too close to Eric Boehlert. Not that we’d want to encourage it, or anything, but how long can an idiot like Boehlert go before being smacked, slapped, beat down, or worse for his Leftist assaults on individual liberty and consistent unfounded and unhinged attacks on innocents, simply because he disagrees with them politically?

Democrats and the leftist media are all atwitter about alleged threats of violence against Congressmen who voted for ObamaCare. We doubt these threats are actually real and, certainly wouldn’t condone them. But, here’s a tip: Hey Democrats, if you are worried about an angry public, how about not passing a sweeping government expansion opposed by 70% of the public. Just a thought.

Perhaps it’s time to draw a bead on Eric Boehlert. After all, one can’t be expected to act like a sitting duck without eventually opening fire in return and Boehlert does present something of an easy target, don’t you think? Perhaps it’s time to think in terms of something of an open season on Eric Boehlert. Wouldn’t the tone of American politics actually improve if propped up operatives like Boehlert were mowed down and effectively stopped dead in their tracks – rhetorically speaking, of course?
