MSM Ignores Dems' '10 Strategy: Lie, Cheat, Steal, and Manipulate Search Engines

You won’t hear Katy Couric, Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer, and Anderson Cooper reporting this story, but it’s perhaps the most defining narrative of this election cycle. Since the Ruling Class Democrats aren’t able to make much progress with the electorate by defending the policies they enacted into law (the Stimulus and Obamacare remain hugely unpopular according to all polls) they have deployed the only strategy they have left–using rhetorical dirty tricks and clever manipulations.

Alan Grayson, incumbent Democrat and known liar

Alan Grayson is only the most visible example of Democratic incumbents using that age old dishonorable tactic of lying. Grayson’s lie was easy to catch in Florida’s 8th Congressional District race. He took video of his opponent, Daniel Webster, saying “don’t rely upon the Bible verse that says wives, submit to your husbands,” edited out the word “don’t,” and ran a television commercial claiming Webster supported something he had clearly advised against.

In New Jersey’s Third Congressional District, incumbent Democrat John Adler and his friends have confessed to cheating–they’ve put a faux Tea Party candidate on the ballot, a desperate effort to keep Tea Party supported Republican challenger John Runyan from winning.

After an entire session of Congress where the Democrats enacted laws that clearly steal from future generations, we now learn that the brother to Missouri Democratic Congressman Russ Carnahan and Missouri Democratic Senate nominee Robin Carnahan was able to legally steal about $100 million of Stimulus money to prop up a wind farm project. As if there isn’t enough hot air already at Carnahan family gatherings!

The desperation of the Democratic leadership becomes even more obvious when we observe their public and private tendency to curse at their opponent. Minnesota Democrat challenger to Michelle Bachmann aired a television commercial in which she said Bachmann “doesn’t do **** for the district.” And of course, in California, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown’s staff was recorded calling Meg Whitman “a whore.” This vile statement was followed by an enthusiastic Brown apparently saying he intended to use that term in the future to describe Whitman.

The top of the ticket, while not on the ballot, has contributed significantly to this strategy. Their specialty, of course, is advocating violence. Earlier, Vice President Joseph Biden promised to “strangle” any Republican who brought up the problem of that gigantic public debt again. And last week, President Obama warned of “hand to hand combat” on Capitol Hill if the Republicans win the House. I didn’t see any mainstream media types rebuke the President for suggesting the use of violence to thwart the electoral will of the people.

You know it’s a bad year for the Democratic Ruling Class when the least morally questionable tactic from their side is advocated by the outer edges of the lunatic left wing blogosphere. Writing in yesterday’s DailyKos, Chris Bowers argued that liberal activists could help get out the vote by manipulating search engines so as to move negative articles about 98 Republican challengers up the Google rankings. This is a clever little manipulation whose efficacy, while limited, does have the added benefit of keeping those on the left who don’t suffer from an enthusiasm gap away from actually organizing to get-out-the vote.

And it’s in the arena of get-out-the vote where the Democrats pose the greatest threat to a conservative victory come November 2, and why conservatives need to volunteer to participate in such projects as Election Day Tea Party, which focuses on helping 50 Republican challengers who are currently “on the bubble.” These 50 challengers are poised to win, but they need extra volunteer help and money to succeed. In contrast to the Daily Kos effort, which relies upon manipulation of social media to attack Republicans, Election Day Tea Party is an example of how conservatives use social media to get our positive message out. It simply compares the policies of 50 incumbent Democrats, all of whom supported the Obama-Pelosi Big Government agenda, with the limited government philosophy of 50 Republican challengers.

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this coming week, Election Day Tea Party will launch a unique program to help these 50 Republican challengers. Called “Cash for Candidates,” the idea is for people to go to the Election Day Tea Party website, pick one–or all–of these 50 challengers, and donate directly to their campaigns. It’s not a money bomb. Instead, it’s an innovative way conservatives can use social media to help.

The reason we need to be vigilant is the $250 million unions intend to spend between now and election day to get-out-the-vote. This, as they say, is serious money, and it’s unwise for Republican candidates and their supporters to start “measuring the drapes.” Not a single vote has been cast yet. The election outcome, like the economy, is dynamic, not static, and the results will be significantly influenced by what we do–or don’t do–over the course of the next 24 days.
