Left-wingers recently unveiled a new website, CrashTheTeaParty.org, aimed at sabotaging the Tea Party movement and inflicting harm on Tea Party supporters by doing Lord-knows-what with their Social Security numbers.
Michelle Malkin has identified the creator of the website as one Jason Levin of Portland, Oregon and posted a detailed account of his background and how the website came to be.
Levin told reporters his group has 65 leaders in major cities who are attempting to recruit members to infiltrate Tea Party events on tax filing day, April 15, when Tea Party supporters are planning rallies across the country protesting high taxes and out-of-control government spending. Said Levin:
Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn’t an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, ‘That’s right, he’s an alien from outer space!’
Do I think every member of the tea party is a homophobe, racist or a moron? No, absolutely not. Do I think most of them are homophobes, racists or morons? Absolutely.
Indeed, CrashTheTeaParty.org tars the Tea Party movement as a collection of losers and reprobates. Calling the Tea Party a “loose affiliation of racists, homophones, and morons, who constitute the fake grass-roots movement,” the website aspires “[t]o dismantle and demolish the Tea Party by any non-violent means necessary.”
Website supporters say they plan to impersonate Tea Party movement supporters and do things at official Tea Party events aimed at discrediting the movement.
They plan to act “in ways which exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public’s opinion of them. We will also use the inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans.”
The goal is to eliminate opposition to President Obama’s rule, according to the website’s administrator:
So if we can hurt their public opinion numbers enough, by playing up their obvious insanity (Obama wasn’t born in America, and shit like that). Perhaps more GOP politicians will run from them they [sic] same way Scott Brown did the second he got elected!
Are the Tea Party crashers harmless goofball pranksters or would-be Fascist storm troopers breaking up political meetings? Time will tell.
Postings by website user “johnnyplankton” suggest “false flag” operations you might expect to read about in the pages of The Onion are on their way.
In a post titled, “Some Suggestions for Silly Signs or Banners (Don’t Forget the Creative Misspellings),” johnnyplankton encourages crashers to make and displays signs like the following:
- Obama Wants Us To Wear Silly Hats!
- Workers Unite To Stop Alien Earth Conquest!
- I Obey the Chip in My Head!
- Glenn Beck for Pope!
- Don’t Violate My Constipational Rights
- I’d Rather Have My Baby Die of A Curable Disease Than Be Called A Socialist!
More worrisome is a post by the administrator of the website, “Mad Hatter,” who encourages crashers to gather Social Security numbers from Tea Party supporters:
… ask people at the rally to sign a petition renouncing socialism. See just how much info you can get from these folks (name address, DOB, Social Security #). The more data we can mine from the Tea Partiers, the more mayhem we can cause with it!!!!
Of course it seems unlikely that Tea Party supporters, distrustful as they tend to be of government, would volunteer their Social Security numbers to strangers with clipboards, but you never know.
And if crashers do obtain Social Security numbers, what would they do with them? In an age of rampant identity theft and fraud it boggles the mind.
Perhaps CrashTheTeaParty.org should call in the big guns at ACORN for help.
