A close friend of mine has sent me the link to Daryle Jenkins‘ rather long winded and mish-mash editorial on the events surrounding my appearance at the Leadership Institute in 2006.
The public knows that conservatives will rail against racist charges against any white person that doesn’t have a “D” next to their name. They do it just as much as they attack Blacks and Hispanics for being racist for making some remark that they spin into something that it is not. Oh, and let’s not forget how Robert Byrd is excoriated for being a Klansman sixty years ago (even though it didn’t matter until they had to find a way to defend Trent Lott from a racist charge), and Harry Reid for his recent comments about Barack Obama – in his support for Obama’s successful campaign to become the first African American President of the United States.
One People’s Project will continue its mission of exposing the racists trying to run things, no matter how much they try to conceal their intentions, thinking they are fooling everyone. Kevin Martin may still be used to that end, but as we have seen in the past it is not going to work. We have seen people of color embrace racists before, so propping a black person up to absolve a racist of sin is going to be seen as even more of an insult. But that’s what these people do. The racism issue is a real one, and one that this particular element among conservatives is most culpable of. They have been caught, and they are going to continue to spin themselves dizzy, call everyone names and throw temper tantrums at prominent conventions.
Then they will go away.
Now with all that said, and rather than play tit-for-tat, I am simply going to challenge Daryle Jenkins to a 90-minute debate on the issues of Race, Conservatism, Fascism and the history of it all here in Washington, D.C., on evening of Friday April 30, 2010.
People like Daryle Jenkins seek to put words in the mouths of others, with no real proof of the facts involved, while building a reputation for whatever ideas they are seeking to shill for. So Daryle, no more computers, editors or hit-pieces, you bring your experiences, I bring mine and let’s have a real debate on the issues in this Era of Obama and big government Progressivism.
Since Mr. Jenkins and his One People’s Project prides itself on exposing corporate interest and fascism that is supposed to be behind the conservative movement, then this debate will allow both of us to lay out our respective track records and works within our communities and out.
Daryle, I have picked the time, so please pick the place here in Washington D.C. and I will be there because I have been looking forward for years to debate so-called progressives on the issues, but you tend to have other things to do or can’t make the forum in the past. We can even use the same rules I did at the Leadership Institute, which will include a moderator, statements and Q&A from the crowd, via email and to each other.
Now Daryle, you know how to reach me and I will be awaiting your answer with bated breath.
Your Buddy,
Kevin L. Martin
