HOUSTON, Texas — Harris County constable deputies rescued a 4-year-old toddler during a raid from a feces-infested meth house. The dealers forced the boy to live in a small closet next to drugs and sex toys.
Deputies with the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office went to a house on Houston’s west side after they received a tip about drug activity in the home, the Houston Chronicle reported. Once inside, deputies found a 4-year-old boy forced to live in a tiny closet.
“The home wasn’t fit for anyone to live inside, let alone a child,” a department spokesperson told the Houston paper.
Deputies reportedly found the boy who was being cared for by a woman who was not his mother, along with a dog and kitten. Officials said rat feces could be seen throughout the house. The boy’s mother was not in the home.
Deputies discovered the mother had two outstanding warrants and arrested her at a later time. The warrants included charges of drug possession. Officials expect child endangerment charges will be filed.
Officials also issued a warrant for the suspected drug dealer who was not present at the time of the investigation.
Police turned the boy over to Child Protective Services (CPS) who took him to a hospital for evaluation. CPS is attempting to locate relatives. The family’s name is currently being withheld.
Deputies stated the alleged drug dealer was selling methamphetamine out of the home.
