Rumors were flying on Election Day about whether or not former Republican President George W. Bush voted for the Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton.
A spokesman for the 43rd president, put the issue to rest by confirming that Bush did not vote for Clinton. The Texas Tribune reported on Tuesday afternoon that the former Texas Governor and his wife declined to vote for either the Republican or Democratic presidential candidate.
“They didn’t vote for Hillary; they didn’t vote for Trump,” spokesman Freddy Ford wrote the Tribune.
Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh told his listening audience on Tuesday that George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush, had voted for Clinton, as reported by the Washington Examiner.
George W. Bush is the brother of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, a presidential candidate in the 2016 Republican primary. Both the former Texas Governor George Bush, and former 41st Republican President George H. W. Bush, and Governor Jeb Bush, declined to endorse the Republican nominee.
The son of failed presidential candidate Jeb Bush, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, told Texans he would vote for the Republican presidential nominee, as reported by Breitbart Texas.
George P. Bush told members of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) in early August, “it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and help the man who won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton.” While the Texas Land Commissioner stopped short of an endorsement, he said it was time for Texas Republicans to get behind the 2016 presidential nominee, Donald Trump. The nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of Governor Jeb Bush told members of the state party’s executive committee he was speaking “from Team Bush,” the Texas Tribune reported.
