A woman was caught on video yelling at teenagers playing in a New Jersey park, telling them that she hopes they both catch the Chinese coronavirus and “die a long, painful death.” She is allegedly a high school math teacher.

A woman who is allegedly math teacher from Steinert High School in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, was caught on camera shouting at teenagers playing football in a park, yelling that she hopes they “die a long, painful death” from the Chinese virus, according to a report by the Trentonian.

The report added that the woman, identified as Nicole Griggs, has been a Hamilton Township teacher for the last 15 years, and has also taught middle school.

“I’m just trying to save you ass and save your life, but die, okay?” shouted Griggs at the teenagers. “I hope both of you get the coronavirus. I hope you both die a long, painful death.”

In an extended version of the video published by the Trentonian, Griggs can be heard telling the students that they are “the problem, not the solution.”

“Am I screaming loud enough that you can hear me over your music?” shouted the teacher. “Parks closed. You will get arrested if the cops come.”

In the video, Griggs can be seen standing on a sidewalk on the other side of a chain-link fence, appearing to have been walking her dog.

“Wait, can we go over there?” asked one of the teenagers, to which the teacher responded by further lambasting the teens.

“Parks closed. The whole area,” shouted Griggs. “Get it through your thick head. You are the reason we are in this situation. You are the problem, not the solution.”

“Go ahead keep recording,” she added. “Who are you going to show it to? Post me on social media. You’re the idiot doing the wrong thing.”

One of the teenagers at the scene of the incident — who is a freshman at Steinert High School — told the Trentonian that he and a group of school friends were playing football on Thursday when Griggs stopped to scrutinize them from behind the fence.

One of the students present had captured the exchange on video and posted it to Snapchat, as well as sent it to friends. Soon after that, the video went viral on social media.

“Y’all Mrs Griggs is losing her damn mind how [the fuck] is she a teacher,” read the caption of the video posted by another Steinert student on TikTok, accompanied by the hashtag #coronavirus.

This encounter, however, had not been the first time Griggs wished coronavirus infection and death on others, according to the Trentonian, which noted that on April 6, the teacher ranted under an alias account on Facebook, stating that she “wished illness” on a young couple she caught bringing their daughter to a park.

“We are surrounded by idiots!!!!!!” posted Griggs on Facebook. “Rode our bikes near Kuser Park this afternoon and what to [sic] we see but a younger couple with their daughter maybe 2/3 years old UNDOING the caution tape around the jungle gym so she could slide.”

“I totally called them out on it, wished illness on them and commented that it was scary to even think they were parents,” the teacher added. “Their response: ‘We were going to put it back.'”

Hamilton Township School District Superintendent Scott Rocco said in a statement on Saturday that the district “will address the issue immediately.”
