The head of the New York City Department of Education has been accused of breaking city rules to give high-paying jobs to his friends by the New York Post.
A report from the New York Post this week alleges that New York City Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza has been breaking rules in order to give lucrative jobs to his friends.
A whistleblower filed a complaint to New York City’s Special Commissioner of Investigation claiming that Carranza gave six-figure jobs to two women he met earlier in his career. The complaint argues that Carranza pushed them through the hiring process at the expense of other candidates.
Breitbart News reported this week that Carranza is facing a $90 million anti-white discrimination lawsuit for decisions made by his office. Recently, Carranza came under fire for a job listing that specific sought “teachers of color.” In May, Breitbart News reported that Carranza gave a presentation in which he argued that “perfectionism,” “paternalism,” and “objectivity,” are “white supremacist” concepts.
Legal experts have condemned Carranza’s discriminatory hiring practices, arguing that it is a violation of New York City Human Rights Law to advantage one candidate over another due to race.
“So, playing this out, if a qualified applicant who is not a person of color is denied the job, that person could bring a claim for discrimination and that job posting would be strong evidence that race/color played a factor in the decision,” Manhattan employment lawyer David Gottlieb.
