A source close to Lori Loughlin claims that she doesn’t like that people are calling her a “cheater” over her alleged role in the college admissions scandal.

According to a report from People magazine, Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are “outraged” by critics who are calling them “cheaters” for their alleged participation in William “Rick” Singer’s college admissions scam.

“This is putting unspeakable stress on her and her family,” the source said. “They’re having to play this all out publicly, and they’re fair game for jokes and memes, but also outraged [by] people who are saying that they are cheaters.”

Breitbart News reported earlier this month that Loughlin is in denial over the possibility that she will have to serve jail time over her alleged participation in the scandal.

“She has been in complete denial and thought maybe she could skate by,” a source told E! Online. “She refused to accept any jail time and thought the DA was bluffing. She was adamant she wouldn’t do any jail time.”

The source also claims that Loughlin is terrified of the prospect of going to trial. She is allegedly concerned that the trial will put her family further under the microscope.

“The idea of going to trial is terrifying for Lori,” the anonymous source added. “Everything comes out in trial, whether or not it’s relevant to the case. She will be under a microscope, and you only have to look at the paparazzi outside the court to know that there is widespread interest in this case. She will lose every bit of her privacy, and that’s a shame. This really is a family matter.”

Loughlin is accused of working with William “Rick” Singer to help her daughters unethically gain admission to the University of Southern California. Loughlin is accused of paying a $500,000 bribe to have her daughters classed as athletic recruits, which helped them gain admission to the university.
