Teacher Busted After Allegedly Professing Love for 13-Year-Old

Authorities arrested a Florida teacher after she tried to lure a 13-year-old boy using social media to engage in lewd activity and professed her love for him, police said.

Andrea Jimenez, 47, who used to teach science at Doral International Math and Science Academy, turned herself in Friday and was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious assault on a child for allegedly trying to send lewd messages to the boy through social media.

Officials then released Jimenez from the Turner Guilford Knight Correction Center on $17,500 bond.

An arrest affidavit stated that Jimenez would “lure” the boy to her classroom after school and tried to kiss him in May 2018, on the last day of classes.

Police said she also downloaded social media apps during the summer break to contact the boy.

“I will go to hell for u. Die for u stop eating to feed u. My love for u is so real and huge !!! I don’t mind facing the devil himself for u,” one of the messages reportedly read.

Other messages reportedly asked the boy to take part in lewd activity with her and warned him not to talk to other girls his age. Jimenez also showered the boy with gifts in the form of books, toys, electronics, and clothing, WPTV reported.

Before authorities arrested her, Jimenez allegedly admitted to school employees that she engaged in inappropriate behavior with the student and voiced concerns about keeping her job.

The 13-year-old boy’s mother then discovered the lewd social media messages, reporting Jimenez to school officials.

Police opened an investigation into Jimenez on Wednesday.

A school spokesperson confirmed that Jimenez is no longer an employee at Doral International Math and Science Academy, adding that Jimenez does not have a history of engaging in lewd activity with other students.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, school administrators will continue to work closely with authorities. The school’s top priority is the privacy, safety, and security of students and families,” the school said in a statement.

“The school has committed additional personnel to support students who may have questions or need to share concerns regarding these matters,” the statement continued.
