Several Brooklyn, New York, nail salon workers allegedly beat down two customers with broomsticks, dustpans, and fists after one of the customers refused to pay for a botched eyebrow job, police and witnesses said.
One of the customers captured video of the all-out brawl at New Red Apple Nails in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn while inside the nail salon, getting a front-row seat to the mayhem.
“So I’m at the nail salon and they f**ked up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke outttt,” Facebook user Mercy Maduka wrote in the video’s caption.
Maduka added that the workers were beating the customers “like animals.”
Police told the New York Post they arrested a salon worker and one of the salon’s patrons Friday evening.
Authorities charged Huiyue Zheng, 32, with assault and weapons possession and customer Christina Thomas, 21, with misdemeanor assault and other charges.
Law enforcement sources said Zheng was the worker driving the customer out of the store with a broomstick.
Meanwhile, Maduka’s video went viral, racking up more than 776,000 views and 23,000 shares on Facebook as of Monday night.
The video gained so much attention that an angry mob of protesters swarmed the nail salon on Monday with shoes and bottles as police officers escorted the salon’s owner and a worker out of the nail place to an unmarked cop car.
Officers drove the male owner and female employee to the 67th Precinct for questioning. The nail salon closed an hour later due to the mob, and the remaining nail salon employees were carted away in an NYPD van.
