Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon and owner of the Washington Post, is now worth $100 billion according to reports.
Bloomberg reports that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos increased his net worth over $100 billion following an increase in Amazon’s share prices. The billionaire’s net worth increased by $2.4 billion as Amazon share prices increased due to optimism for the companies revenue price following Black Friday sales.
Bezos had the largest increase of anyone on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index this year with an overall increase of $32.6 billion, this week alone Amazon’s share prices have increased by five percent.
Bezos has apparently sold approximately $500 million worth of his own Amazon shares since 2002 but has previously stated that he sells approximately $1 billion worth of Amazon shares a year to fund his space exploration business Blue Origin LLC. Bill Gates, who is currently worth $86.8 billion, would be worth approximately $150 billion if he had not given approximately 700 million Microsoft Corp. shares and $2.9 billion in cash to charity since 1996.
