PlatinuGames’ critically-acclaimed action-adventure Bayonetta is finally available on PC with today’s surprise release.
Originally released in North America in 2010 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, Bayonetta finally is available on PC. There had been no official announcement that the game would be coming to platform seven years after its original debut, but 8-Bit Bayonetta, a pixel-graphics sidescroller featuring the character released as an April Fool’s joke, and a countdown timer on publisher Sega’s website had indicated something was up with the series.
Bayonetta, while not PlatinumGames’ first release, was arguably the title that first brought widespread recognition of the development studio for the game’s fast and fluid gameplay and stylish design. Players control the titular Bayonetta, “the last survivor of an ancient witch clan who keep the balance between light, dark and chaos.”
Available now through Steam, the PC release boasts improved graphics including 4K resolution, “anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality,” as well as support for “Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud Save, Trading Cards, Leader Boards, and Big Picture Mode.”
