Gina Caze is accused of watching as her 14-year-old daughter, Nakia Venant, streamed herself committing suicide via Facebook Live, allegedly doing nothing to help the young girl.

The Daily Mail reports that Gina Caze allegedly watched her daughter, Nakia Venant, as she live-streamed her suicide from a foster home in Miami. The Florida Department of Children and Families accused Caze of commenting on the stream, criticizing her daughter as a “custody jit” and claiming that Venant was “crying wolf.”

The comments on Venant’s live stream were posted from a Facebook account for Gina Alexis, which the Tampa Bay Times reports was used by Caze:

“#ADHD games played u sad little DCF custody jit that’s why u where u at for this dumb s–t n more u keep crying wolf u dead u will get buried life goes on after a jit that doesn’t listen to there parents trying to be grown seeking boys and girls attention instead of her books.”

ADHD typically refers to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Jit has many meanings, one of which is young gangster.

Howard Talenfeld, a Miami attorney representing Caze, said the abuse allegation listed in the DCF report was “absolutely false.” He said his clients’ comments were made after her daughter died and when she believed the suicide was fake.

“She unequivocally denies she was online while Naika was alive,” he said.

An incident report released by the DCF to the Miami Herald stated that Venant tied a scarf to a “shower glass door frame” and then fashioned the scarf into a noose, killing herself.

This is not the first time Facebook Live has been used to broadcast a suicide. An actor from Los Angeles, California, committed suicide on Facebook Live following his arrest on suspicion of sexual assault in January.
