A five-year old girl is now fatherless after Adam Hilarie matched with the wrong woman on online dating site PlentyOfFish.
The price of Adam Hilarie’s life, according to Auburndale, Florida police, was fifty dollars. Hailey Bustos was allegedly paid to go on a date with Hilarie in order to set up a robbery that “escalated” into tragedy. Andre Warner, Gary Gray, and Joshua Ellington came for televisions, an Xbox, and an iPhone, but they allegedly took Hilarie’s life as well.
Bustos and her co-conspirators have been arrested for conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a firearm, and first-degree murder. According to the arrest reports, “Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter.”
But it wasn’t enough. Auburndale Deputy Chief Andy Ray doesn’t know how the robbery escalated. What began with an innocuous bowling alley trip the night before ended with a coroner’s signature. Bustos was only caught because a witness recognized her while she was out with Hilarie, and police from Winter Haven picked her up on yet another burglary.
For Adam Hilarie’s daughter, the arrests have come too late.
