Want to score games on the cheap this Black Firday but don’t fancy being trampled to death by frenzied crowds at the mall? Luckily, multiple outlets are offering deals online.
As we’ve previously covered, the Steam Exploration Sale is going on now until December 1. Unlike past sales, there are no daily or flash deals, so the discounts on offer will be the same throughout the entire sale. I want to echo our own Nate Church’s recommendation that if you have any interest at all in 4x turn-based strategy games, Endless Legend is the best in the genre I’ve played in years.
Both Sony and Microsoft are running Black Friday sales through their digital storefronts as well, with some of the biggest games of the year available at a reduced price. Highlights include Destiny: The Taken King, Grand Theft Auto V, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on both the PS4 and Xbox One. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is also on sale for the PS4, as is Playstation exclusive The Order:1886. If you balked at the $60 price tag over the limited content of The Order earlier this year, you can now try it out for $10.
Amazon is offering discounts on both digital and physical copies of games, as well as numerous peripherals for both consoles and PC. Xbox One owners who were waiting for sales on Gears of War Ultimate Edition or Rare Replay can pick both up for $19.99 each, either by ordering a physical copy or a digital redemption code. Neither game is discounted on its own in the Xbox Live Black Friday sale (Gears of War is only available as part of a bundle with Forza 6), so if you want to get them cheap this is a good opportunity.
Enjoy Black Friday without the risk of getting ground-and-pounded by a crazed stranger.
