Jason Greenblatt Urges Full Investigation of UN ‘Refugee’ Agency

TEL AVIV – President Donald Trump’s Special Mideast peace envoy Jason Greenblatt has demanded a full UN investigation into its agency for Palestinian refugees after an internal ethics report leaked Monday alleged corruption, sexual misconduct and mismanagement at the highest levels of the agency.

U.N. Sanctions Cut North Korea’s Trade Volume in Half

A report published Friday by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), an organization funded by the government of South Korea, showed that North Korea’s trade volume was cut in half during 2018, evidently as a result of sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council.

Hong Kong Pop Star Asks U.N. to Expel China from Human Rights Council

Hong Kong pop singer, actress, and political activist Denise Ho Wan-see gave a speech to the United Nations on Monday in which she accused China of violating its commitments to Hong Kong’s autonomy and asked the U.N. to remove China from its Human Rights Council. Chinese diplomats interrupted her two-minute speech twice.

Libya: Warlord Haftar’s Forces Bomb Migrant Center, Killing 44, Injuring 130

The United Nations-brokered administration in Libya accused warlord Khalifa Haftar’s forces, fighting on behalf of the breakaway government in the eastern part of the country, of launching an airstrike on Wednesday that struck a migrant detention center in Tripoli, reportedly killing at least 44 people and wounding over 130.

U.N. Refugee Agency Finds Record 71 Million Displaced by War and Persecution

The U.N. refugee agency published a report for World Refugee Day (June 20) that found a record 71 million people around the world forced from their homes by war and persecution. 26 million of those people were driven out of their home countries entirely, while the rest were “internally displaced” or are currently in search of asylum.

China is using its clout over the United Nations to promote and legitimize its so-called “re-education” centers in Xinjiang where communist authorities are subjecting Uighurs and other Muslim minorities to extrajudicial incarceration, torture, forced political indoctrination, the renunciation of their faith, and other human rights abuses, Chinese state media revealed on Monday.
