The crash detection feature on iPhones, which is supposed to contact emergency services if it detects that the smartphone has been in a car accident, has been implicated in a dramatic increase in bogus emergency calls during the recent Bonnaroo Music Festival in Coffee County, Tennessee. First responders noted that false emergency calls quintupled during the festival, caused by iPhones that equated dancing with car crashes.

Dispatchers at the Summit County 911 Center have reportedly been fielding huge numbers of automated notifications from local skiers’ iPhones and Apple Watches at the county’s four ski areas last weekend. New iPhones feature “crash detection” and “fall detection” that automatically call 911 when the device thinks its user has been in a car wreck or other accident, which skiing apparently sets off as well.

Apple employees have reportedly begun petitioning against the tech giant’s plans to demand workers return to offices for three days a week starting next month. Apple employees have mounted repeated protests against returning to the office. The employee group “Apple Together” labeled the woke company racist, writing that returning to the office “will make Apple younger, whiter, more male-dominated, more neuro-normative, more able-bodied, in short, it will lead to privileges deciding who can work for Apple, not who’d be the best fit.

Report: Apple Asked for a Cut of Facebook’s Ad Sales Years Before Starting Privacy War

The Wall Street Journal claims that Apple argued that it deserved a cut of some of Facebook’s ad revenue and attempted to broker a deal with Facebook that didn’t work out. Since then, Apple has introduced its App Tracking Transparency feature which has negatively affected Facebook’s advertising revenue, setting off a privacy war between the Masters of the Universe.
